Afia Fahmida Rahman is an electrical engineering PhD student at the Grove School of Engineering and joined SERS Lab in August 2026. She has a background in Quantum Science and Technology from her Master of Science program at Columbia University (Dec 2025), and in Software Engineering from 3.5 years of experience at Optimizely (2021 – 2024), a SaaS company. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering with a second major in Physics from Brac University (May 2021). Her research interests include machine learning and artificial intelligence for quantum computing optimization and for quantum networking, security optimization of quantum computers, and scientific computing for simulation of natural phenomena.”
